The ring and ball method softening point apparatus is used for single determinations, asphalts, pitches, tars and most resins. The apparatus shown meets ASTM D36, E28 and AASHTO T53.
This set includes a burner, beaker, support stand and 1 ring, wire gauze with asbestos center, thermometer clamp, shouldered ring and stem, hardened steel ball and an ASTM 113F Thermometer.
