Developed in accordance with the latest ASTM test method D5801, this system measures the elastomeric properties of asphalt binder at room temperature. Polymer modified asphalts have the ability to stretch to high elongations.
Toughness is defined as the work required to separate a tension head from a sample of asphalt binder at a specified set of test conditions.
Tenacity is defined as the work required to stretch the material after the initial resistance is overcome.
User control panel for manual test control
1 kN (225 lb.) load cell capacity
Easy to set up, operate, and service
Compact single-column table design
Built-in user calculations for toughness and tenacity
